From Family Farm to Experiential
Learning as well as Therapeutic Riding Opportunities
After running a small private farm and horse barn since 1989, John and Liz Jaynes opened Jake's Flat Farm to the public in 2004. In its small beginning we offered beginning riding lessons to a limited number of students.
Equine Experiential Learning
In 2006, the mission of Jake's Flat Farm,LLC. broadened. We began to offer activities and services designed to promote personal growth and development through equine experiential learning as well as therapeutic riding opportunities, retreats, and workshops to local organizations.
Our horses are important participants in our daily lives and in our work with people who visit our barn. Our herd continues to grow as we expand the services and activities we offer to people in our community.
Non-Profit Organization for Therapeutic Riding
In addition to recent expansion of services offered directly by Jake's Flat Farm, we provide a home to North Carolina Personal Ponies, and Carolina Hoofprints, a non-profit organization supporting therapeutic riding . We are excited as our programs grow at Jake's Flat Farm to include a wider variety of services and opportunities to our community.
