The programs and activities at Jake's Flat Farm are made possible by a range of staff which changes to meet client demand and workload. Our staff ranges from full time personnel, to part time personnel, interns, horse specialists, volunteers, and professionals who contract their services.
Horses require an enormous amount of care and maintenance. Chores around the barn are attended to by a variety of individuals including owners, employees, and volunteers from the community. Work around the barn is closely supervised and minor volunteers are allowed to perform tasks consistent with labor regulations. Barn and maintenance activities vary widely and sometimes include special projects and activities. If you have special skills, talents, or just some spare time that you would like to share with our programs give us a call.
Many of the programs at Jake's Flat Farm are operated by non-profit organizations and as such, depend on volunteer activities and donations. We have worked with Boy Scouts, Senior Projects, and service learning programs just to name a few of the community organizations who support our programs.
