
Jake's Flat Farm currently employs assistant riding instructors in the summer program. To be eligible for this position, applicants must have extensive experience with horses, knowledge and experience with children, and some experience with riding lessons. We employ only high school seniors or students enrolled in college in these positions. We prefer students whose goals and educational background match those of our programs and activities. Assistant instructors and camp counselors participate in summer programing under the direct supervision of the lead instructor. They are responsible for direct instruction, riding instruction, supervision of volunteers and interns, and most importantly the care and supervision of children in our care. Assistant instructors also supervise and participate in horse care, organization of activities, and demonstration of skills and activities.
