Our tack room offers a "pony free" zone where we store tack, equipment and feed. Ponys and horses are not allowed in the tack area to minimize damage to our equipment and restrict their access to feed and other materials. This area also offers a small refridgerator for water bottles and carrots. Clients are given free access to this area to utilize equipment and supplies as necessary. Clients assume responsibility for returning equipment they have used to it's appropriate storage spot and to shut the door to keep ponies out.

Waiting Area
We are pleased to offer families and clients the comfort of a heated/airconditioned waiting area inside while they wait. This area also doubles as a workshop classroom during events or a meeting space for small groups or family sessions.

Our new 4 stall area
We have added three stalls which house Leigha, Valentine, Tucker, and Dugan which are made of portable panels and gates to allow for maximum flexibility and ventilation. Our fourth stall is made of heavy duty stall panels and houses Twinkle. In the future, this stall may become our foaling/broodmare stall.

Grooming shelf in Aisleway
Each horse at Jake's Flat Farm is assigned their individual grooming box and equipment that are stored on the grooming shelf. Clients are able to independently access each horses equipment as needed and responsible for returning it to it's proper place when finished grooming.

Mounting Platform
This fall, Under a grant funded by North Carolina Horse Council, Carolina Hoofprints constructed a mounting platform to assist clients who have difficulty mounting from a step or the ground. In the near future we will be adding the wheelchair ramp portion of this project to further assist riders with disabilities prohibiting them from mounting their horse.

Therapeutic Trail
In addition to building a mounting platform, volunteers from Carolinahoofprints cleared a trail suitable for therapeutic riders which is wide and smooth enough to allow for sidewalkers, leadline leaders, and ponies pulling carts. When completely finished, we are hopeful that this trail will include directional signs, a picnic area, and will be mapped with GPS markers.

In May, a local Boy Scout completed his Eagle Project working on our therapeutic trail. This project included opening and grooming an existing trail as well as opening additional trail to complete the project. we are grateful and delighted with this wonderful addtion to the therapeutic riding program. We expect to utilize this trail regularly during summer camps and individual sessions this summer.

Riding Arena
This spring we were finally able to complete construction of a riding arena suitable for a therapeutic riding program and other activities such as horse shows, group lessons, and workshops. Carolina Hoofprints recieved partial funding from NC Horse Council which allowed this project to be completed in time for our summer programming. Our new arena is 108'x180' with a solid board rail. It connects directly to our covered ring which will be really nice this summer as we offer camps and activities.
