Jake's Flat Farm currently provides office space to NC Personal Ponies, the North Carolina Chapter of a national Non-profit, Personal Ponies, LTD. This organization's mission is to provide ponies to children who are differently able or who have terminal illness and special needs.

The North Carolina Personal Pony Chapter is relatively small. We currently have 5 pairs of ponies in North Carolina. Three of these pairs are breeding stock with one pair of ambassador ponies at Jake's Flat Farm, and another pair placed with a child and their family. Our ponies are currently being cared for by a tireless group of volunteers and are enjoyed by many children. In order for this program to grow, we need your help to support their care. Please contact us to discuss what you can do to support Personal Ponies.

In addition to our ponies' activities on the farms where they live, they are active in the community, visiting nursing homes, schools, community events, and working with organizations such as 4H. We go where there are children or people who want to interact with ponies. Our motto is-

"Have pony, will travel!".

Peanut Butter and Jelly are Placement Personal Ponies who used to live at Jake's Flat Farm. Peanut Butter and Jelly made good friends with several people while they lived here before moving to live with a special child in South Carolina. BEST WISHES!!! Peanut Butter and Jelly, We miss you.

Pumpkin the little chestnut mare, is a breeding stock mare. Emma Rose, the pinto, is her pasture companion. These two little girls arrived last summer from Ohio. Pumpkin is the end of her line, so we are hoping to get a baby from her soon. Emma and Pumpkin live at Sunset Ridge Equestrian Center, where they work with children learning about horsemanship skills.

Dandy, the brown pony, is NC Personal Ponies' micro stallion. Dandy comes from some of the original bloodlines of Personal Ponies stock. Dandy is a well behaved little stallion and we are excited to have the opportunity for babies from him. Dandy stands 30" at the shoulder. He and his pasture buddy, Napoleon live in Stony Point, NC.

April the chestnut pony is one of our NC Personal Pony breeding Mares. Her pasture buddy, Scarlett, is the little black mare. April and Scarlett live with Lee, in Conover, NC. These tiny little girls are busy with girl scouts and participating in community activities.

Tucker, the pinto pony and Dugan, the black pony are Ambassador ponies who live at Jake's Flat Farm. Tucker and Dugan are available to children on the farm and by participating in community events or visiting schools. These two tiny little fellows are under 30" at the shoulder.
