THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAM
We have found that therapeutic riding is also very effective for riders who have less severe mental or physical impairments as well. Riders with autism, asbergers, mild cerebal palsy, mental disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and other special needs make significant growth and enjoy therapeutic riding. Therapeutic riding is often the highlight of the week and significantly enhances the quaility of life for our riders empowering their independence, and their sence of self worth.
Therapeutic riding is offered as individual 1 hour sessions usually on a weekly schedule or in a small group session either bi-weekly or weekly. Therapueutic riding is not covered by insurance. Sometimes slots are funded with grants or scholarships. Fees are set on a sliding scale based on income and need. Applications are available on the FORMS page. For more information, view Carolina Hoofprints page or inquire directly via phone or email.
We are teaming with Carolina HoofPrints to restructure our therapeutic riding program to meet NARHA standards so that we can become a NARHA registered and eventually a Premier Program. Our instructor is in training and being mentored by a certified NARHA instructor.
